The City of Auburn is looking for a talented Anti-Homelessness Program Coordinator to add to our team! in this position will be coordinating the Anti-Homelessness Program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting individuals with mental health, substance abuse, homelessness, and other social services needs, which requires considerable public contact, in the field outside of a traditional office environment, to assist the target population with obtaining resources as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The p rimary emphasis of this position is to serve those that are experiencing homelessness where they are at. It is estimated that 80% of the work will be conducted in the field, while 20% of the work completed will be in a traditional office setting.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The City of Auburn is seeking a candidate who:
- Have experience in the field of homelessness and not afraid to interact with people alone in areas that are off the beaten path.(case management, working in encampments, working with law enforcement)
- Have great communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Go to encampments, RV’s, Car’s independently.
- Treat people respectfully and as human beings
- Can work independently and with a team.
Primary Duties
In this role, you will:
Contact outside encampments, RVs, Cars, and shelter for people experiencing homelessness.- Coordinate with the Administrator, works with other areas of the City to create efficiencies in operations across the organization; facilitates public outreach and solicits program feedback to enhance program engagement and compliance.
- Assist in maintaining and analyzing program data and files; conducts program research and analyses; prepares recommendations and reports for improving existing and developing new programs; reviews statistical data and identifies future trends; collects and prepares data for status reports and outcome summaries.
- Provide information and assistance to the public and refers to other appropriate governmental agencies.
- Sustain a strong law enforcement partnership.

Minimum Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field;
AND
- Two (2) years of applicable experience; OR a combination of education, experience, and training that indicates the ability to successfully complete the essential elements of the job listed above.
Required Licenses:
- Possesses and retains valid state drivers license without impending risk of loss at time of appointment.
- Valid First Aid & CPR certifications (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience working in a municipal setting.
- Bilingual and/or multilingual speaking highly desirable.
